Hello. Yesterday we got the coop we ordered from E bay. The listing said, assembly: 6 easy steps, takes minutes to assemble. My dad worked on it 2 hours last night and it still isn't finished. It is also very small, I think it would work best for 2 chickens according to my research, Oh well. It's not awful. I am learning each chickens personality. Delila is fast and larger than the others. She is always begging me to go outside so she can stretch. Petunia is quiet and the others push her around a bunch. And Telula is the queen bee (queen chick?)She has first dibs on everything and she pecks the others all she wants. Oh, I love my little girls!

How do you know they are all girls? What if one is a rooster?
ReplyDeleteCraig, if one turns out to be a rooster (which ChickenGirl is sure will not happen), the kids have been told the rooster will have to find a new home on a nice farm and we'll replace with a hen. Of course when and if I have to enforce this, I'm gonna be the most hated Mother Hen in the chicken coop.
ReplyDeleteMy first chicken farm....?
ReplyDeleteA man decided to start a chicken farm and brought 24 chicks to get started. A week later he bought another 24 and another 24 the week after that. When his friend asked how his chicken farm was coming along the man replied, "Not one of them has grown yet. I wonder if I'm planting them too deep?"
I love chicken soup-just sayin' : ) Abby, keep up the good work with the chickens. But watch that one named Petunia-remember the goose named Petunia in our story from the White Book-she thought she was smart just because she carried alot of books around! Watch out if your Petunia starts carrying around books! Love, Grandma
ReplyDeleteAbby, I keep checking your blog for pictures of the chicken coop but . . . no pics!
